Using your personal experiences does not make sense unless they are related to the admissions needs of the college, and it is best to avoid writing about your day-to-day life.Another thing to avoid in your college application essay is using an essay topic that is based on your academic ability or accomplishments. For example, if you have an athletic scholarship from Harvard, avoid writing about how much you love the sport.
